Role Overview

We’re looking for someone who can manage the day-to-day responsibilities of an MEP Manager on site while bringing initiative and creative thinking to deliver complex and challenging projects.

Key Job Responsibilities
The MEP Manager will be responsible for:
Management of the services process of a project both supporting client and contractor to ensure delivery of a quality services installation.
Supporting sub contractors to deliver information and supporting decisions to enable design and installation of services to maintain program.
Chairing services meetings and issuing minutes
Pre snag of all elements prior to client final / partial inspections / handovers
Feedback all actions and communication from a services perspective through the team to ensure all team members are up to speed with services status and their obligations.
Management of the process in regards to coordinated services drawings early in the project to ensure no clashes with the architectural build or other services
Feeding back on sub-contractor performance and development of a strong services sub-contractor database.
Managing Mechanical & Electrical elements of live projects and tenders.
Take the leading role for management of the on-site installation and commissioning of all M&E activities, including the overview of the commissioning program
Ensuring M&E design, installation & commissioning programmes are incorporated into the main programme.
Meeting with designers and subcontractors on a regular basis to ensure the construction, installation and commissioning works are developing as planned.
Ensuring the installation and commissioning works are managed in accordance with the relevant quality procedures.
Manage the commissioning works in a sequenced and structured phasing from pre-commissioning checks to live performance testing.
Coordinate all works in accordance with Health & Safety requirements including on-site permit systems..
Providing M&E technical input and advice as required for live projects and tenders.
Coordinating any temporary M&E services required.
Managing the flow of information from the M&E design team and subcontractors and advising the project team of any impact on progress and programme.
Providing necessary information to the Procurement Department to enable the procurement of materials and subcontractors.
Providing support for handover documentation including O+M`s.
Introducing improvements and innovations where appropriate.
Liaising with the Commercial and Project Management teams on commercial aspects relevant to the role as required.
Coordinating the specific installation with all MEP contractors for spatial awareness
Feeding back cost for variations and minimising costs also feeding back contra charges from sub-contractors through proactive co-ordination.
Essential:
Experience of either design or construction of MEP works
Having a solid understanding the construction process, such that designs are developed with appropriate regard for buildability.
Have an excellent understanding of the commissioning process for complex building service systems
Possessing a sound understanding of MEP processes and their application
General awareness of commercial issues relating to construction contacts.
Ideally educated to degree level but HND / HNC or via a full apprenticeship route.
IT literate
A good commercial understanding is necessary.
Project management trained
CSCS black card ( NVQ level 6 min) , First aid, SMSTS and asbestos trained
Desirable:
Knowledge of Procore or another document management system
Charter membership of a professional body
Proficient in driving/ navigating 3D modelling programmes
