This role is ideal for anyone aspiring to become a Mental Health Assistant and develop practical skills supporting children with additional needs.\n\nA specialist Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) school in Slough is seeking a dedicated Mental Health Assistant to support pupils with emotional and behavioural needs. Working as a Mental Health Assistant, you will collaborate closely with teachers, therapists, counsellors, and psychologists, gaining invaluable experience relevant to careers in mental health and education.

This Mental Health Assistant position provides hands-on exposure to trauma-informed practice and behavioural support strategies.\n\nThe Role:\n\nProvide 1:1 and small group support as a Mental Health Assistant\n\nAssist pupils with emotional regulation, behaviour management, and social development\n\nSupport the delivery of personalised learning and behaviour plans\n\nBuild positive relationships to encourage engagement and wellbeing\n\nIdeal Candidate:\n\nDegree in Psychology, Counselling, Criminology, Education, or similar (or relevant experience)\n\nPassionate about working as a Mental Health Assistant within SEN and mental health settings\n\nResilient, proactive, and adaptable\n\nThis is an excellent opportunity for an aspiring Mental Health Assistant to gain meaningful experience while making a positive difference in young people's lives
