Mechanical Project Manager

Location: Shinfield, Berkshire Salary: £75,000 + Benefits Contract: Permanent Start: Immediate

The Opportunity

A well-established contractor is seeking an experienced Mechanical Project Manager to deliver a technically detailed project based in Shinfield, Berkshire.

This role will suit a hands-on Mechanical PM with a strong background in pipework and public health systems, particularly within laboratory, welfare, and office environments.

Role Overview

You will take full responsibility for managing the mechanical and public health installation package, ensuring delivery is safe, compliant, and in line with programme and technical specifications.

The role is based in the Home Counties, with a strong preference for candidates already located within Berkshire.

Key Responsibilities

Manage the full mechanical and public health pipework package

*

Oversee design and installation of supports and bracketry

*

Deliver works across laboratory, welfare, and office spaces

*

Coordinate subcontractors, site teams, and suppliers

*

Ensure works meet programme, budget, and quality standards

*

Maintain strict health & safety compliance

*

Liaise with clients, consultants, and internal teams

*

Manage commissioning and handover

Technical Requirements

Candidates must have strong experience in:

LTHW, CHW, domestic water, laboratory water systems

*

SVP, RWP, and laboratory drainage systems

*

Pipework installation methods including:

*

Welded

*

Screwed

*

Soldered / Brazed

*

Solvent weld

*

Fusion

Essential Criteria

*

Proven experience as a Mechanical Project Manager

*

Strong background in pipework and public health installations

*

Experience working in technical environments such as labs or similar

*

Must be based within Berkshire or surrounding areas

Candidates outside of a reasonable commuting distance will not be considered.
