Projects are predominantly within commercial and office fit-out environments, alongside selected healthcare and education works. Mechanical packages typically include HVAC systems, heating and cooling plant, ventilation, pipework, public health services, and plantroom installations.
This is a site-focused Senior Project Manager role , working closely with a site-based Contracts Manager and wider delivery team to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and to the highest standards.
The Role Senior Mechanical Project Manager As Senior Mechanical Project Manager, you will play a key role in the successful delivery of mechanical building services projects, taking responsibility from initial handover through to completion.
This is a hands-on, site-led role where you will be heavily involved in day-to-day project delivery, working closely with site teams, subcontractors, and clients.
You will be responsible for managing projects individually or supporting across multiple smaller projects, ensuring smooth coordination, strong communication, and high-quality delivery throughout.
Key responsibilities include:
Managing mechanical building services projects from handover through to completion
Overseeing projects typically ranging from £200k to £5m
Working closely with a site-based Contracts Manager and supporting wider site teams
Coordinating subcontractors, suppliers, and on-site labour
Managing programme, progress, and day-to-day delivery on site
Acting as a key point of contact for clients and stakeholders
Ensuring all works are delivered in line with technical specifications and standards
Monitoring project costs, variations, and overall commercial performance
Supporting collaboration between site, design, and pre-construction teams
Contributing to a positive and productive site environment
Candidate Requirements The successful candidate will have a strong background in Mechanical Building Services project delivery and will be comfortable operating in a site-focused environment.
Experience as a Mechanical Project Manager, Senior Mechanical Project Manager, or Mechanical Site Manager ready to step up
Strong background within M&E or Mechanical Building Services contracting
Proven experience delivering mechanical projects, typically up to £5m
Strong technical understanding of HVAC systems, plant, pipework, and associated services
Experience coordinating site teams, subcontractors, and project stakeholders
Good commercial awareness with the ability to manage costs and variations
Strong organisational, communication, and leadership skills
This role requires experience within mechanical installation contracting. Candidates from FM, maintenance, or service-only backgrounds will not be suitable.
We are looking for individuals with a stable employment background who can demonstrate consistent delivery across previous roles.
