Resident Mechanical Engineer

Carbon60 is looking to recruit a Resident Mechanical Engineer to work for a leading Facilities Management client based in Edmonton.

ROLE: Resident Mechanical Engineer

PAY RATE: £21/hour via PAYE

JOB TYPE: 12 weeks Temporary to Permanent

LOCATION: Edmonton

HOURS: 37.5 hours per week

THE ROLE:

We are seeking a skilled Resident Mechanical Engineer to join the team at Medical Facility in Edmonton. This role involves hands-on maintenance and repair of essential mechanical systems across the hospital site, ensuring smooth and safe operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct maintenance and servicing of Air Handling Units (AHU) and Fan Coil Units (FCU)
  • Inspect and maintain calorifiers and Thermostatic Mixing Valves (TMVs)
  • Carry out boiler maintenance and checks in compliance with L8 regulations
  • Manage drainage issues, including unblocking toilets and waste pipes
  • Diagnose and repair leaks efficiently
  • Provide on-call support once fully familiar with the site and operations

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE

  • Level 3 qualification in Plumbing or Mechanical Engineering
  • Proven experience with AHU, FCU, boiler systems, TMVs, and drainage maintenance
  • Ability to work independently and respond to urgent maintenance needs on site
  • Willingness and availability to participate in an on-call rota after familiarization period
