Mechanical Fitter

to assemble high-quality, custom-built machines to exacting standards. This role suits a hands-on engineer who enjoys problem-solving, working from drawings, and contributing to continuous improvement in a non-production-line environment. Key Responsibilities Assemble mechanical machinery in line with engineering drawings, specifications, and build sheets. Complete full machine builds using all supplied components, ensuring products are fully finished and quality assured. Identify drawing, BOM, or design issues and raise Engineering Change Reports (ECRs) and non-conformance reports as required. Modify and manufacture bespoke parts in the machine shop where necessary, following safety procedures. Work closely with design, quality, production, installation, and commissioning teams. Accurately record build times, progress, and notes using factory systems and build sheets. Maintain high standards of housekeeping, tool care, and factory cleanliness. Support installation, commissioning, and factory testing activities when required. What Theyre Looking For Proven experience in mechanical fitting and machinery assembly. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and build documentation. Strong problem-solving skills with an innovative, improvement-focused mindset. Self-motivated and capable of working independently with minimal supervision. Good communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams. Strong understanding of quality standards and attention to detail. Solid awareness of Health & Safety practices in a manufacturing environment. Desirable: Experience working on bespoke or special-purpose machinery. Familiarity with ISO quality standards. Experience modifying or manufacturing parts using machine tools.
