Overview
We are currently seeking a Mechanical Estimator (HVAC background) for a medium sized Tier 2 business based in Yorkshire who have been trading for over 40 years with an excellent reputation. Due to an internal promotion, they are keen to recruit sooner rather than later as their commercial team have their hands completely full at the moment.
Duties
Estimating HVAC installation projects across the UK.
Assisting with the tendering and bidding process
Attending site surveys as and when required.
Liaise with the internal and external Quantity Surveyors and/or Commercial Managers
Work in tandem with the Electrical Estimators
Identify all associated cost savings
Ensure compliance, health and safety and all related regulations are adhered to.
Experience
Proven experience as a Mechanical Estimator or in a similar role within the MEP industry (contracting or consulting)
Familiar with typical estimating software
Familiarity with construction contracts, procurement processes, and legal standards.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Strong experience of typical commercial projects such as Healthcare, Education, Retail, Public Sector and Hospitality to name a few.
Strong communication skills, capable of negotiating effectively with diverse stakeholders.
A recognised qualification in Building Services or being apprentice trained (time served) Engineer in plumbing and heating is absolutely ideal as long as you have a minimum of 10+ years industry experience.
