About The Role
Engineered to Protect, that's our promise. We contribute to designing and developing mechanical elements for electromechanical and mechanical systems. The role involves liaising with customers, suppliers, project teams, and subject matter experts on technical issues related to system design, implementation, and verification.
The Mechanical Engineer will be based at our Barnstaple site with flexible working options. The salary for this role is up to £44k, depending on experience.
What you'll do
- Produce technical documentation including drawings, test specs, trials plans, and reports.
- Conduct trials and testing locally and off-site.
- Support production staff as required.
- Work alongside production during practical stages of product development.
- Collaborate with other engineers to design and verify technical solutions.
- Work towards performance and delivery targets.
- Identify technical risks with support from senior staff.
- Report progress clearly and identify conflicts or blockers.
- Prioritize workload with support from line managers.
- Manage time effectively.
- Complete mechanical designs and perform analysis using SEA-approved tools like SolidWorks.

The skills you need
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar.
- Mechanical design experience.
- Experience with small/intricate design implementation.
- Experience in manufacturing environments.
- Proficiency with SolidWorks 3D modeling and drawing.
- Hands-on prototype experience.
