Fortress Recruit is looking for a talented Mechanical Engineer to join a forward-thinking, UK-based engineering and manufacturing business, working on complex, precision-critical components and delivering cutting-edge solutions for demanding environments.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Working on projects from concept design through to production, ensuring quality, cost, and timescales are met.
• Designing and developing electro-mechanical systems and precision mechanisms.
• Creating 3D CAD models and assemblies using SolidWorks.
• Using engineering analysis and simulation tools to assess stress, fatigue, and vibration.
• Producing detailed manufacturing and assembly drawings
• Supporting verification/test activities.
• Working alongside other departments to deliver fully integrated solutions.

To succeed in this role, you'll have:

• A Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• 3 years in an engineering design role, preferably with complex, high-precision, or Defence applications.
• Experience in designing mechanisms, structures, and assemblies
• Confidence in performing engineering calculations and creating technical documentation.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across teams.
• Industry experience or a desire to work within defence and/or advanced manufacturing

Due to the nature of the projects, candidates must be eligible to obtain UK Security Clearance (with proof of UK residency for the last 5 years).
