Mechanical Design Engineer in Glasgow, Glasgow City

Our long established and successful Glasgow based client, a leading designer and manufacturer of valves and gauges, is recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer who will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing mechanical systems and components . Utilising engineering principles, 3D modelling software, and other design tools to create innovative solutions, working with teams of other engineers and project managers the successful candidate will have experience in a comparable role.
Responsibilities to include;
Design and Development:
Creating and refining designs for mechanical systems, components, and products using CAD software and other tools.
Analysis and Testing
Conducting simulations, prototyping, and testing to ensure designs meet performance, safety, and cost requirements.
Collaboration
Working with other engineers, project managers, and stakeholders to develop and implement designs.
Documentation
Preparing detailed drawings, specifications, and reports to support manufacturing and other teams.
Project Management
Managing the workflow and progress of design projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
Qualifications & Experience
Proficiency in CAD software
Knowledge of engineering principle
Experience with design analysis tools.
Strong communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills
5+ years’ experience in machine shop/manufacturing environment , Time served but not essential
Good organisational skills with strong attention to detail
Solid technical/IT skills (Excel, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, etc.)
