£65,000 - £75,000 DOE + Progression to Lead Engineer + Xmas Shutdown + Pension + Expensed Travel + 27 days + Bank Holiday

Are you a Mechanical Design Engineer with experience in the water or wastewater sector, looking to take ownership of projects from concept through to commissioning, with a clear route into a Lead Design Engineer role?
\n
\n
This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing engineering contractor working on major water and wastewater projects across the Thames Water region. You'll gain exposure to the full project lifecycle, work within a multidisciplinary design team, and develop into a senior technical and client-facing position.

\n

In this role, you will deliver mechanical design packages independently while collaborating closely with other engineering disciplines, the supply chain, and site teams to ensure compliant, efficient, and buildable solutions.

The Role:
\n
\n
Deliver mechanical design packages from concept through to commissioning
\n
Work in accordance with CDM regulations, company procedures, and client standards
\n
Collaborate with civil, electrical, and process engineers across project stages
\n
Select mechanical equipment and lead supplier and subcontractor discussions
\n
Prepare hydraulic calculations for gravity and pumped systems
\n
Produce equipment schedules and technical documentation
\n
Participate in HAZOP, HAZCON, and HAZCOMM studies
\n
Work with CAD teams to produce detailed drawings and models
\n
Support construction and commissioning phases, including site visits
\n
\n
\n
The Person:
\n
\n
HNC or Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering (or similar)
\n
Experience in water or wastewater project design or delivery
\n
\n
\n
