Job Title: Nuclear Commissioning Project Leader - Mechanical\n\nLocation: Barrow-In-Furness (On-site)\n\nSalary: Competitive\n\nWhat you’ll be doing:\n\nDriving the delivery of the test and commissioning plan\n\nSupporting a team of nuclear mechanical commissioning engineers\n\nSupporting the Reactor Test Group (RTG), authorising the suite of test documentation\n\nAuthorised Person in the permit to work process\n\nReviewing engineering outputs and documents\n\nImbedding learning from experience (LFE)\n\nYour skills and experiences:\n\nEssential:\n\nDegree/HNC/HND in an engineering discipline or equivalent experience\n\nUnderstanding of Nuclear System and other associated systems and their testing and commissioning\n\nUnderstanding of overall submarine systems and their operation\n\nExperience supporting and coaching a diverse team in complex environments\n\nProficient with IT systems and software (Microsoft products)\n\nPlanning test and commissioning programmes\n\nDesirable:\n\nExcellent people mentorship and development skills\n\nCat B Nuclear Operator or relevant nuclear industry experience (Ideally from a nuclear steam raising plant)\n\nExperience of nuclear licensed or COMAH sites\n\nEmbedment of Learning from Experience (LFE)\n\nBenefits\n\nAs well as a competitive pension scheme, BAE Systems also offers employee share plans, an extensive range of flexible discounted health, wellbeing and lifestyle benefits, including a green car scheme, private health plans and shopping discounts - you may also be eligible for an annual incentive.\n\nThe RTS Commissioning Team\n\nAs a Commissioning Project Lead - Mechanical, you will plan and manage a test section and all associated activities, delivering as part of wider test & commissioning (T&C) programme or project consisting of several major engineering systems, commissioning disciplines, platform assemblies, equipment or software products. This role will provide you the opportunity to be involved in embedding LFE to the rest of the programme and realisation of test commissioning strategy and provide input to support the delivery process. You will be responsible for a large group of Commissioning Engineers at various levels & disciplines, offering a broad range of technical skill & knowledge to on a unique project that is part of the endeavour.
