This is a strategy-led role focused on creating long-term pipeline, not short-term sales. The Role Market Development Lead Responsibilities
Defining sector entry strategy across Defence / Public Sector. Mapping MOD, DE&S, Dstl and wider central government ecosystems. Analysing hiring patterns, demand signals and competitor positioning. Understanding public sector procurement routes and framework agreements. Building senior stakeholder relationships before live requirements. Establishing credible market presence and strategic partnerships.
Success is measured by access, positioning and future opportunity creation. Essential Experience
Proven experience operating within UK Defence and/or Central Government markets. Strong understanding of public sector procurement frameworks. Experience opening new sectors or building market presence. Confidence engaging senior decision-makers in regulated environments.
This is not a generalist business development role. It requires sector credibility, market intelligence capability, and long-horizon thinking.
