Position Summary
A Manufacturing Service Technician role have arisen within the Precision Machining Facility. The Precision Machining Facility is at the forefront of advanced Turbine blade design and manufacture to support civil and defence aerospace applications and meeting demands of new engine product introduction and aftermarket services.
As a Maintenance Engineer you must have knowledge and experience with working on electrical/electronic systems, control systems and have mechanical experience working with high precision equipment.
What you will be doing:
As a Maintenance Engineer you will work as part of an established team accountable for maintaining a range of complex machines and equipment, undertaking Planned Preventive Maintenance, fault finding, diagnostics & repairs and improvements on a range of manufacturing machines including Computer Numerically Controlled machine tools, robot cells, automated plant, high speed Electro Discharge Machines and all associated ancillary equipment and production plant.
- Performing detailed preventive planned maintenance in accordance with equipment schedules/requirements. Carrying out time constrained fault diagnosis (including root cause analysis) and repair of equipment as well as using the Computerised Maintenance Management System for data capture.
- Consistently interfacing with Operations, the Manufacturing Services Leader and the Manufacturing Services Engineer/s to deliver a professional engineering service.
- Work closely with Original Equipment Manufacturers and service providers to support service contracts on plant and machinery including the supervision and risk review of contractors.
- Actively working to drive adherence to the company Health and Safety requirements whilst adhering to the corporate HSE control standards and company policies. And Liaise with the onsite spares integrator to ensure spares inventory reflects operational demands with minimal inventory.
Position Qualifications:
- A time-served engineering apprenticeship in a multi-skilled, electrical/electronic or mechanical engineering discipline and NVQ level 3 or equivalent experience and qualifications.
Preferred Requirements:
- A maintenance professional with high standards of electrical and mechanical knowledge with experience of fault diagnosis and rectification, carrying out planned maintenance activities and implementing improvements.
- Experience of working on electro-mechanical equipment, including knowledge of fault finding, diagnostics, interrogation and rectification of PLC's, multi-axes CNC machine tools, robotic systems, and control systems.
- Flexibility and adaptability are key to meeting the ever-changing business requirements. A proactive thinker, with a positive attitude and the ability to communicate effectively at all levels is key.
- A good level of computer literacy, training for specific systems will be provided.
