Manufacturing Project Engineer

Our client, a leading manufacturing company, is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Manufacturing Project Engineer to lead the launch of new products for their valued customers. This is an exciting opportunity to manage complex projects, work with cross-functional teams, and drive continuous improvement in manufacturing processes while advancing your engineering career.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage the manufacturing launch of new products for key customers
Develop, manage, and track project budgets and timelines
Communicate project status to customers, ensuring trust, confidence, and reputation as a top-tier supplier
Provide project updates to internal stakeholders, cross-functional team members, and leadership at each milestone of the New Product Introduction (NPI) process
Proactively identify and resolve project risks, including technical, cost, safety, and timing risks
Engineer and implement new manufacturing processes to ensure products meet print specifications consistently
Create and maintain engineering data and documents, including drawings, Bills-of-Material, Routings, Standard Rates, Process FMEA, Work Instructions, and Quality Control Plans
Collaborate with Tooling Engineers and Designers to design, build, and validate tooling and quality control gauges
Lead continuous improvement projects and contribute to the development of new manufacturing technologies or processes
Job-Specific Competencies:
Strong project management and organizational skills
Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
In-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes, including Laser Cutting, Press Brake, Metal Stamping, MIG and Projection Welding, and Complex Assemblies
Expertise in Process Failure Mode Effects Analysis (PFMEA), Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP)
Proficiency in SolidWorks, CAD sheet metal design, Statistical Process Control (SPC), and Lean Manufacturing/Six Sigma
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Ability to solve complex problems and drive process improvement
Strong relationship-building skills

Experience and Education Required:
BS in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering
Direct manufacturing experience and proficiency in the skills outlined above
5-7 years Project management experience
Working Conditions:
In-office position with occasional remote work by exception
Sitting, standing, walking, and climbing stairs required
Travel up to 20%
