Manufacturing Engineer

defence engineering company Rheinmetall AG based in Germany. We
design, manufacture and support military large-calibre weapon systems
used by the British Army and international customers.
RWM UK is now starting a new production site in Telford (CNC
environment) and we are recruiting for Manufacturing Engineer who will
be responsible for the maintenance of machines and equipment for the
production of large-calibre weapon systems.
This role require experience working in manufacturing environment with a
focus on CNC Machines.
The individual will be responsible for:
· Liaising with RWM as part of technology transfer; This will involve
spending occasional periods of time in Germany understanding
manufacturing processes
· Planning the ramp up of a new production line for large calibre weapon systems · Coordinating the installation of new machinery according to programme schedule · Creation and maintenance of Process Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (PFMEA) and Control Plans. · Leading the activity of pre-production readiness of all new equipment · Conducting Risk and PUWER assessments and promoting safe working practices · Providing lineside manufacturing support to the Production Delivery Teams · Working with the QA department to agree quality standards and ensure process is compliant · Operating with a high degree of autonomy to prevent and resolve issues, applying problem solving techniques to complex situations · Be the technical lead on supplier down-selection activities, ensuring proposals are compliant with technical requirements · Supporting project manager by providing input into project reports.
WHAT QUALIFICATIONS YOU SHOULD HAVE
Essential:
· Demonstrated experience working as a Manufacturing Engineer with
a focus on milling, turning, grinding, honing, drilling and boring
processes,
· A recognised Engineering qualification/engineering apprenticeship or
suitable engineering qualifications in a manufacturing/ discipline
equivalent to HNC or higher.
· Demonstrated experience with CNC programming using CAD CAM
packages.
· Solid understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing
(GD&T) and metrology principles.
Desired:
· Experience in defining and managing Key Performance Indicators.
· IOSH Managing Safety qualification.
· Understanding of Manufacturing Readiness Levels (MRLs).
· Experience working with SAP and Teamcenter.
