We have a vacancy for a Manufacturing Engineer.
Role Accountabilities:
Participate in the Daily Operations meetings when required, taking ownership of problems assigned to the ME function for resolution. Understand the process constraints and operating rules of the value stream covered in the ME role and participate in problem-solving exercises to improve flow where relevant. Create and control (to the correct version) manufacturing documentation such as set-up packs, stage drawings, work instructions, standard operating procedures (SOPs), etc Take accountability for the relevant milestones in the NPDI gated process and fulfilling all ME tasks defined in that process (eg: prepare cost estimates, producing stage drawings, creating manufacturing routes, gaining customer approval, etc). Ensure that all necessary tooling/fixturing which is required to support a safe, robust and efficient manufacturing process is designed, manufactured and available to support production. Use relevant Engineering software to create and validate CNC programs which meet cycle time and quality requirements. Develop a continuous improvement pipeline of activities by supporting LEAN/GEMBA Events and generating individual ideas to improve EHS, Quality, Cost and Delivery performance. Apply problem-solving methodologies to define and solve problems at root cause as a method of improving operational performance, in particular on process and quality capability. Participate in problem-solving peer reviews, training and awareness activities to help the organisation develop a strong problem-solving culture. Implement and/or project manage problem solutions through (but not limited to) working with external suppliers, working with customers, proving out improved technologies and programmes, completing Process Failure Mode Effects Analysis (PFMEA) activities, etc. Participate in internal and external audits, taking account of outcomes from audit processes and working to implement solutions where gaps are identified.
Person Specification:
Worked within an Aerospace/Automotive production environment HND or higher in Electronic Engineering or similar Excellent knowledge of CNC Machining techniques Strong inter-personal and communication skills Demonstrable experience of defining methods of manufacture for complex products and assemblies CAD/CAM experience in a relevant software package would be an advantage (SolidWorks/CAM preferable) Able to understand and interpret complex engineering drawings Competence in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word and Project Capable of working un-supervised and using own initiative An understanding and alignment to our Bromford Values; Respect, Integrity, Safety and Excellence If you require any further information, please do not hesitate to contact the HR Department.
