Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time
Salary: Competitive (dependent on experience)
Hours: Monday to Thursday 7:45am - 4:15pm, Friday 7:45am - 3:15pm
Our client, a leading manufacturer specialising in heat shrink tubing and shielding solutions, is recruiting for a Manufacturing & Process Development Engineer to join their technical team in Braintree. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a high-tech manufacturing environment, playing a key role in developing and scaling production systems from the ground up.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and implement efficient manufacturing processes
Lead process development activities for extrusion and heat shrink technologies
Produce tooling designs using SolidWorks CAD and conduct capability studies
Identify and integrate new technologies to improve product quality and reduce costs
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure production readiness
Create and maintain technical documentation, including standard work instructions
Support trials and validation for new equipment and processes
Drive continuous improvement in production efficiency and quality
Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards
Skills and Experience Required:
Degree-qualified in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline
Proven experience in manufacturing engineering, process development, and automation
Proficient in SolidWorks; knowledge of ANSYS or other simulation tools
Understanding of extrusion processes, compound mixing, and tooling design
Familiarity with control systems and automated manufacturing equipment
Strong analytical and communication skills
Experience with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives
