Job Overview: Our client, an established manufacturer of engineered composite materials we are looking for a Manual Lathe Operator to join their precision engineering team.

Remit:

* As a Manual Lathe Operator you will be responsible for operating manual lathes to machine high-precision components in accordance with engineering drawings and tolerances.

* This is an opportunity to secure a days role on a permanent basis however a contractor will also be considered for this position.

Role:

* Setup and operate Hylingensteadi manual lathes to machine composite components.

* Read and interpret engineering drawings and job specifications.

* Monitor tooling condition and make required adjustments.

* Perform in-process and final inspections using precision measuring tools.

* 5Maintain daily production and quality records.

* Adhere to safety protocols and company procedures.

* Carry out routine maintenance and report mechanical faults.

Experience:

* Previous experience with manual lathes (Hylingensteadi or equivalent).

* Engineering or machine apprenticeship would be highly desirable

* Solid understanding of turning operations, materials, and cutting speeds.

* Ability to work from detailed technical drawings.

* Competence with micrometers, calipers, gauges, and other measuring instruments.

* Experience with multiple manual machine types (mills, grinders) – Desirable
