Job Summary:
Reporting to the Tag Global President, the, Managing Director is responsible for Tag’s relationship with its clients. The primary responsibility of the Managing Director is to deliver and grow the Tag business working as an extension of their clients marketing resource. They are expected to build deep, meaningful relationships and form partnerships with their clients that are built on trust, respect and shared goals. The MD is responsible for creating plans to achieve financial and commercial budgets, and the development and implementation of strategies to mitigate potential revenue losses. They must also lead and support activities to identify new potential clients and create new business from existing customers. The MD sits on the Growth Board, the Governance Exco and an invitee to the Operations Board. The Managing Director will lead the EMEA Senior Leadership Team.
Responsibilities:
Financial
- Maximize profitability to deliver budgeted objectives
- Ensure client commercial terms reflective of company policy
- Manage costs within agreed budget
- Maximize top line account growth
- Maximize new business opportunities and be the active lead on any new business opportunity assigned to EMEA P&L ownership partnering with the EMEA CFO
Client
- Establish, develop and maintain long-term relationships with key senior stakeholders within the client account by delivering a first class, customer centric experience
- Proactively develop new relationships within the client company to upsell and cross sell Tags broader proposition
- Relationship manage our overseas operations and provide a single escalation point globally where appropriate
- Work with senior regional leaders and the global team to identify added value services within cost efficient ways
- Ensure that all customer touchpoints are positive so take proactive interest in all TAG business areas and stakeholders
- Regularly contribute to external events and be recognized as the external face of Tag
People
- Ensure the management structure is appropriate for the account at all times and is appropriate to the client’s needs
- Develop a succession plan to meet the future needs of the account and contribute to the wider Tag Group organizational planning
- Train and develop employees as appropriate to needs of business and in line with Tag development programs
- Act as a role model for all direct reports and Tag employees responsible for the client
- Lead and motivate the team to demonstrate a collaborative, innovative and ambitious ambition
- Ensure clear objectives are set and monitored for all members of the team
Commercial
- Take an active role in contract & commercial negotiations.
- Develop an overall strategic vision designed to take the department to the next level.
- Develop a long-term plan to manage risk while being open to change, challenges and experimentation.
- Clearly communicate the overall strategic vision and obtain buy-in and ownership from the senior leaders within the business.
- Leverage internal talent to brainstorm/identify/develop large-scale ideas for improvements to existing services/operations and potential new ones.
- Develop and execute commercial initiatives with Finance, Client Services & Supplier Management to increase profitability/contribution.
Process
- Perform consistently against all published Tag KPI’s and balance scorecard objectives
- Ensure compliance with Tag operational practice i.e. financial and commercial policy
- Manage expenses against company policy
- Manage absence against company policy
- Create an environment of innovation and continuous improvement
- Constantly re-engineer services to maximize profit in line with company best practice and client needs
- Ensure correct billing and delivery across all services
- Implement all new business successfully
- Adhere to all Tag risk management guidelines and pro-actively manage all contract risk
Job Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or equivalent is required. A combination of education and work experience may be substituted
- At least ten years' experience in a senior leadership role
- Strong subject matter expertise in Creative Production or Sourcing
- Demonstrated strategic and business acumen to make a strong contribution to the ongoing development of the Tag business proposition
- Demonstrated record in developing strategic solutions that have permanently resolved poor contract performance or difficult situations
- Established accomplishments in successfully growing volume, profitability and client satisfaction
- Track record of achieved success through the leadership of a high performing team
- A minimum of 5 years' experience in client or customer service environment
- A minimum of 4 years' previous management experience. Must demonstrate effective supervisory and leadership skills
- A minimum of 3 years' of prior experience in financial analysis, managing financial reporting or cost controls, Profit & Loss statement ownership, etc.
- Understands Tag's commercial offering
- Established accomplishments in successfully growing volume, profitability and client satisfaction
- Proven effective decision-making skills required to manage complex operations
- Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills; proficiency in Microsoft word, excel and power point
- Natural leader, inspiring and motivating teams through personal style
