JKS Restaurants are seeking a Management Accountant to join their team. Working in a dedicated brand finance structure, the role develops strong operational understanding and provides focused financial support to brands: Berenjak, Chaiyo, Sabor, Legado and JKS Fine Casual. The Position Reporting to the Financial Controller, the role is responsible for delivering the full management accounting cycle for its portfolio, ensuring accurate reporting, well-controlled balance sheets and reliable financial information. The role also line manages an Accounts Assistant, who supports transactional processing and accounts payable. This is a hands-on role in a fast-paced, high-growth environment, suited to a technically strong and commercially aware accountant who takes ownership of day-to-day delivery. The role focuses on accuracy, control and timely reporting, while supporting insight and decision-making across the brands.
Key Responsibilities:
Core Management Accounting
Own the month-end close for your brand portfolio, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
Prepare and post all journals required each month to maintain an accurate trial balance, complete bookkeeping and strong accounting records.
Prepare accruals, prepayments and depreciation journals, with clear supporting schedules.
Maintain fixed asset registers and ensure all movements are correctly recorded.
Reconcile period-end F&B stock and post related journals.
Review and post sales reconciliations for your sites, including weekly flash reporting checks.
Post stock and transfer movements in Sage Intacct.
Perform balance sheet reconciliations, including intercompany balances.
Prepare supporting schedules and reconciliations for year-end statutory accounts and group audit deliverables.
Reporting, Cashflow & Insight
Prepare monthly management accounts for your brand portfolio, including variance analysis and commentary for review by the Financial Controller.
Deliver month-end variance analysis across sales, F&B, COS and labour, highlighting key movements and areas for follow-up.
Maintain rolling cashflow schedules for your brands and support the Financial Controller with forecasting inputs.
Analyse financial performance and provide insight to support operational decision-making.
Team Management, Controls & Compliance
Line manage the Accounts Assistant, who prepares weekly sales and bank reconciliations.
Retain accountability for ensuring all reconciliations are completed accurately and on time, with issues identified and resolved promptly.
Review and approve reconciliation outputs, journal postings and supporting documentation prepared by the Accounts Assistant.
Act as the key finance contact for the outsourced AP team, resolving queries and ensuring timely processing.
Approve payments for your brands in line with internal controls.
Build strong working relationships with site teams and support P&L reviews where required.
Escalate risks, anomalies or judgement areas to the Financial Controller in a timely manner.
Provide support to the wider finance team during peak periods and key projects.
The successful Financial Accountant will be:
Essential
Part-qualified and studying towards ACCA or CIMA (study support available)
Previous experience in a Management Accountant or similar role
Strong month-end accounting experience, including journals, reconciliations and balance sheet control
Strong Excel skills, including XLOOKUPs and Pivot Tables
Experience working in a multi-site environment (hospitality, retail or similar)
Strong attention to detail and good organisational skills
Clear communication skills and confidence working with non-finance teams
Desirable
Hospitality sector experience
Experience with stock/inventory accounting and GP reconciliations
Experience with Sage Intacct (or similar)
Familiarity with Adaco
