NLB Solutions are working with an Accountancy Practice based in Hemel Hempstead that are looking for new management accountant. The role will offer training for the right candidate that has experience (2 years minimum) of dealing with month end processes, balance sheet reconciliations and some VAT returns. This role will report into managers that have created this role due to expansion.\n\nThe business offer great offices, development and growth with parking as well.

The management team have grown with the business, so are used to helping new individuals settle and develop in time.\n\nDuties:\n\n * Prepare monthly management accounts for multiple clients (P&L, balance sheet, cashflow, variance analysis).\n\n * Complete month-end processes including journals, accruals, prepayments, and reconciliations.\n\n * Monitor financial performance and identify risks, trends, and opportunities.\n\n * Produce budgets, forecasts, and financial reports with clear commentary.\n\n * Maintain accurate ledgers and control accounts across client portfolios.\n\n * Liaise directly with clients to understand their business needs and provide ongoing financial support.\n\n * Assist with year-end accounts, and onboarding new clients.\n\n * Support continuous improvement of internal processes and reporting templates.\n\n * Provide support with VAT returns, bookkeeping reviews, and other practice-related tasks as required.\n\nPerson spec:\n\n * Experience as a Management Accountant or similar finance role (accountancy practice or outsourced environment preferred).\n\n * Strong understanding of management accounting principles and month-end routines.\n\n * Excellent accuracy and attention to detail across multiple client accounts.\n\n * Advanced Excel skills and strong overall IT literacy.\n\n * Experience using Xero and/or Sage 50 (highly desirable).\n\n * Ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders
