Dams have been providing furniture solutions since the 1960s and is one of the UKs leading manufacturers and suppliers of office furniture, employing over 340 people from our sites in Knowsley.Job OverviewWorking as part of the engineering team, you will complete maintenance activities on shift in line with the planned maintenance schedule. You will play a key role in maximising machine uptime through both reactive and preventative maintenance, ensuring all work is completed efficiently, cost-effectively and to the highest company standards.Why Join Us?Heres what you can look forward to:40 hours per week, weekly rotating shift 6am-2pm / 2pm-10pmShift allowance for late shift28 days annual leave (including bank holidays), increasing with length of serviceAccess to the Dams Employee Hub, offering hundreds of discounts across major retailersHealth Cash Plan (fully employer funded) to support your everyday healthcare costsDeath in Service insurance (employer funded) for added peace of mindAbove and Beyond Employee Awards recognising colleagues who make a differenceAnnual wellbeing events focused on supporting your health and wellbeingFree on-site parking for all employeesKey responsibilities:Undertake electrical and mechanical maintenance and repair of machinery, plant, equipment & facilitiesLiaise with Engineering Manager, Shift Managers and other shift staff in providing maintenance supportUndertake electrical and mechanical fault diagnosis and repairIdentify and report on materials and parts required to overcome breakdowns and repairsThe use of multi test equipment to identify and rectify faults within control systemsRecord detailed and accurate repairs information relating to inspections or completed repair jobsEnsure work is carried out to the highest standard and compliant with the Companys Health and Safety PolicyObserve and comply with all good working practicesComplete an end of shift report detailing work undertakenProvide shift handover informationExperience and skills required:Completion of a relevant, recognised apprenticeshipCity & Guilds / BTEC or equivalent qualification in a relevant engineering disciplineExperience gained in a manufacturing environmentInterpretation of complex electrical drawingsPneumatics / Hydraulics fault finding experienceA good understanding of electronics Experience in the following control systems is desirable: -oPLCs fault finding, Drives & Controls, Encoders, sensors & feedback systems, CNC machine controlsExperience of hands-on modifications to electrical and electronics circuits Experience of retrofitting of drives and configuring parameters Some experience of installation projects is desirableHigh level of attention to detail, analytical and problem-solving skillsDemonstrate high standards of personal conductf you have a keen eye for detail and enjoy working in a fast-paced maintenance environment, we would love to hear from you.
