Job Description
We are currently seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join a technical services team supporting a critical, business-essential environment in London. This role is ideal for an experienced electrical or multi-skilled technician who thrives in high-pressure, operationally critical settings.\n\nYou will be responsible for completing planned and reactive maintenance tasks, ensuring systems operate safely, efficiently, and in line with client expectations. The role operates within a critical and technical services environment, where attention to detail, communication, and reliability are essential.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nAct as an Authorised Person (AP) within 6 months of onboarding\n\nComplete day-to-day reactive and planned maintenance tasks within required timeframes\n\nMaintain accurate records of completed and outstanding works using internal systems\n\nEnsure all staff and contractors comply with safety, security, and site procedures\n\nParticipate in critical services and technical training programmes\n\nCommunicate effectively with clients, management, and wider engineering teams\n\nSupport team members by sharing technical expertise and covering holidays, sickness, and training\n\nCarry out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) on critical systems and provide condition assessments\n\nIdentify, log, and report incidents or out-of-line situations\n\nFollow defined procedures to resolve technical issues under guidance\n\nDeliver work in line with established processes and performance standards\n\nSkills & Experience\n\nEssential:\n\nStrong technical and fault-finding skills\n\nCity & Guilds qualification in Electrical Engineering (or HNC equivalent)\n\nExcellent administrative and organisational skills\n\nComputer literate with strong Microsoft Office knowledge\n\nClear verbal and written communication skills\n\nExperience with procedure writing\n\nDesirable:\n\nCompleted electrical or mechanical apprenticeship (or equivalent)\n\nReport writing experience\n\nTechnical Knowledge\n\nEssential:\n\nStrong understanding of Mechanical and Electrical building services\n\nAbility to operate and interrogate BMS systems\n\nKnowledge of business-critical systems such as UPS, generators, and comms rooms\n\nDesirable:\n\n18th Edition IEE Regulations\n\nHV training\n\nRG Setsquare is acting as an Employment Agency in relation to this vacancy
