Some flexibility needed as they are a 24-hour site.
Week 1 : 6am-2pm Mon-Fri,
Week 2 : 8pm-6am Mon-Thurs,
Week 3:
1pm-9pm Mon-Thurs, and 10am-6pm Fri and 1 Saturday in 3 (paid at OT rate).
A maintenance engineering opportunity to join one of the UKs largest independent steel toll processors, working on heavy industrial machinery.
This Maintenance Engineer job will suit: An apprentice-trained or City & Guilds qualified engineer with experience in heavy industry, ideally steel processing, slitting, or decoiling machines. A mechanically biased engineer who is comfortable with hydraulics, pneumatics, welding/fabrication, bench fitting, and general assembly skills. Someone confident in basic electrical fault finding (formal electrical qualifications are an advantage but not essential).
This Maintenance Engineer job will involve: Maintenance and repair of hydraulic and pneumatic systems. Welding, fabrication, and oxy/acetylene burning. Bench fitting, general assembly, and mechanical maintenance. Forklift, cherry picker, and overhead crane operation. Supporting production by fault finding and ensuring machinery uptime across heavy industrial plant equipment.
