Job Description

Mechanical Maintenance / Service Engineer

– Contract

– Hertfordshire

We are currently looking for a mid-level Mechanical Maintenance / Service Engineer for an ongoing contract role supporting industrial and mechanical plant equipment across sites in Hertfordshire.

The role involves planned maintenance, fault finding, and servicing of mechanical systems within a production and industrial environment. This is a hands-on role suited to an engineer who is confident working independently while maintaining high safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out mechanical maintenance, servicing, and repair work on site equipment

• Diagnose and resolve mechanical faults across plant and machinery

• Support planned preventative maintenance schedules

• Assist with breakdown response and corrective maintenance

• Work with rotating equipment such as pumps, motors, gearboxes, and associated mechanical systems

• Ensure all work is completed in line with site safety procedures and engineering standards

• Maintain accurate service and maintenance records

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Mechanical Maintenance or Service Engineer

• Strong mechanical fault finding and repair skills

• Experience working with industrial plant equipment and rotating machinery

• Ability to work independently on maintenance and service tasks

• Relevant mechanical engineering qualification (NVQ, apprenticeship or equivalent)

• Full UK driving licence
