Maintenance ElectricianSheffieldPERMANENTDAYSOur client, a small to medium sized manufacturing business, have an immediate requirement to recruit a well versed Maintenance Electrician to join their team.OverviewThe role involves providing hands-on support in maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving plant equipment, must have strong focus on electrical systems while supporting mechanical tasks as required.The successful candidate will play a key part in ensuring maximum uptime of critical electroplating lines, ancillary equipment, and supporting utilities, while maintaining compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.Key ResponsibilitiesCarry out planned preventive maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on a wide range of electrical and electro-mechanical equipment including plating lines, rectifiers, pumps, motors, compressed air and control panels.Diagnose and repair electrical faults, control wiring, drives, sensors, and instrumentation.Support mechanical repairs such as pumps, pipework, and hydraulics as required.Ensure equipment is maintained to achieve maximum efficiency and reliability, minimizing downtime.Work closely with production teams to identify and resolve issues quickly and effectively.Contribute to continuous improvement projects and modifications to improve reliability, safety, and efficiency.Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation in line with company procedures.Ensure compliance with electrical regulations, health and safety standards, and environmental requirements, particularly regarding chemical handling and plating operations.Liaise with external contractors and suppliers when required.Essential Skills & ExperienceTime-served Electrical Engineer with 18theditionProven experience in a maintenance engineering role within a manufacturing/industrial environmentStrong knowledge of electrical fault finding and repair, including motors, drives, control circuits, and PLCs.Good understanding of mechanical systemsAbility to read and interpret electrical and engineering drawings.Excellent problem-solving and diagnostic skills.Awareness of health, safety, and environmental compliance within a manufacturingDesirable SkillsAble to showcase experience of working in an Industrial environmentPLC programming/modification experience.Experience with lean manufacturing, TPM, or continuous improvement initiatives.Personal AttributesStrong team player with good communication skills.Self-motivated and able to work independently.Flexible, adaptable, and able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.Proactive approach to safety and continuous improvement.In this role, you will be expected to work 07:45 - 16:15 Monday to Thursday and 7am - 1pm on a Friday.
