Overview
BAE Systems is seeking an experienced M365 & Entra Technical Architect to provide enterprise‑wide architectural leadership across our Microsoft 365 and Entra ID platforms. This is a key role shaping the future of our digital workplace and identity services, ensuring they are secure, scalable, compliant, and aligned to business strategy
Responsibilities
- Defining and maintaining the enterprise architecture for Microsoft 365 and Entra ID
- Leading the design of secure identity, access, collaboration, and endpoint solutions
- Providing architectural governance, technical assurance, and design authority for M365/Entra initiatives
- Developing standards, reference architectures, patterns, and roadmaps
- Advising on and embedding Zero Trust principles across identity, endpoints, and data
- Acting as the subject matter expert for identity lifecycle management, authentication, and conditional access
- Leading complex migrations, integrations, and transformation programmes involving M365 and Entra ID
- Providing technical leadership on security, compliance, and data protection within the Microsoft ecosystem
- Mentoring engineers and supporting capability uplift across identity and collaboration technologies
Skills & Experience
- Deep expertise in Microsoft 365 services including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive, and Purview
- Expert knowledge of Entra ID (Azure AD), including Conditional Access, MFA, PIM, identity lifecycle, and hybrid identity
- Strong understanding of Zero Trust and modern security models
- Experience with Intune, endpoint management, Autopilot, and device compliance
- Knowledge of modern authentication and integration protocols (OAuth 2.0, OIDC, SAML, SCIM)
- Strong architectural design and problem‑solving capability
- Excellent documentation skills (HLDs, LLDs, diagrams, standards)
- Ability to influence senior stakeholders and explain complex concepts clearly
