Learning Support Assistant
Location: Plumstead, London Hours: 35 per week Salary: £13.10 Contract: Until 3rd July 2026

Our client, a respected educational organisation, is seeking a Learning Support Assistant to provide essential learning and accessibility support to young people and adults with SEN. This is a rewarding role where you will help learners gain independence, develop key skills and fully participate in college life.

The role:
• Facilitate learner access to learning programmes • Support educational, social and personal development • Promote independent learning and self-advocacy • Assist with personal care, mobility and well-being • Understand individual needs and contribute to support plans • Identify barriers to learning and support interventions • Ensure specialist equipment and assistive technologies are available • Support learners to access wider college services and activities • Report mobility and safety concerns in line with policies • Liaise with staff, parents and external agencies • Contribute to learner progress reviews
About you:
• Good standard of general education • Level 2 English and Maths or willingness to work towards • Experience in multicultural environments • Understanding of safeguarding and SEN needs • Ability to build strong relationships with learners and staff • Strong communication and IT skills • Flexible, adaptable and team‑focused • Makaton/BSL awareness desirable
A current and valid ENHANCED DBS is required for this role.
