Learning Support Assistant - Phonics Intervention (Full Time)

A friendly and inclusive primary school in Camden is seeking a full-time Learning Support Assistant to work across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2, delivering targeted phonics interventions to pupils with additional learning needs.

The role involves providing one-to-one and small-group support to help develop early reading, decoding, and literacy skills. The successful candidate will work closely with class teachers and SEN staff to implement structured phonics programmes and support individual learning plans.

The ideal candidate will have experience supporting pupils with SEN, including speech and language difficulties, attention-related needs, and learning delays. A calm, patient, and nurturing approach is essential, along with the ability to promote positive behaviour and maintain a supportive learning environment.

Key responsibilities include:

Delivering phonics and literacy interventions across KS1 and KS2

Supporting pupils on a one-to-one and small-group basis

Working collaboratively with teachers and SEN staff

Monitoring pupil progress and providing feedback

Promoting positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
