We are looking for a Lead Electrical Design Engineer to join our Grid and Primary Design team, playing a key role in delivering capital projects up to 132kV across the region. \n \nYou will lead on all aspects of substation and network design from concept through to commissioning while supporting a variety of infrastructure upgrades to meet the evolving needs of our customers.

\n \nKey Responsibilities \n \nLead the development of electrical design strategies and solutions for capital projects. \n \nCarry out and approve detailed design work for substations and associated infrastructure (up to 132kV). \n \nOversee and manage contractors and consultants throughout project lifecycles.

\n \nPrepare and approve technical specifications for all plant and equipment. \n \nWitness and accept equipment during Factory Acceptance Testing. \n \nCarry out protection setting calculations.

\n \nSupervise and mentor junior and graduate engineers. \n \nApprove the work of other engineers at Lead Engineer level. \n \nRequirements \n \nMinimum HNC in Electrical Engineering (degree preferred).

\n \nStrong experience in substation design (132kV/33kV/11kV). \n \nIn-depth understanding of protection schemes, switchgear, overhead lines and underground cable design. \n \nKnowledge of CDM regulations in a utility or DNO setting.

\n \nExcellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills. \n \nFamiliar with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office (especially Excel) experience with power system analysis tools desirable. \n \nApply now to join a company driving innovation in the power sector or contact (url removed)
