A fantastic opportunity for a HR Learning & Development Manager to join a European supplier of fast moving consumer goods.
The Business:
This niche business offers products to a variety of sectors producing both branded and own brand products for a variety of leading names.
Main Role Responsibilities:
The HR L&D role will be responsible for building and developing a learning and development strategy, including policies. Supported by the Head of HR, you will ensure L&D strategy aligns with business plans and supports the wider Global Attract, Retain, and Develop goals of the group of companies.
Other key responsibilities include:
- Development of an effective learning and development strategy and policies tailored to business needs.
- Lead on LMS initiatives, including design, implementation, and management of the Company’s LMS system (currently Cornerstone).
- Coordinate with US colleagues to ensure Global Programmes are aligned.
- Manage training programmes for all UK employees.
- Conduct and maintain skills gap analyses to identify training needs.
- Identify internal and external training requirements, including new equipment or systems training.
- Partner with HR Support Manager/HR Business Partner and Department Managers on learning objectives, including PDPs.
- Support education on all UK EDI initiatives.
- Manage inductions for new joiners, transfers, and agency T2Ps.
- Regularly review L&D processes for effectiveness.
- Support apprenticeships, internships, and graduate programmes.
- Collaborate with educational organizations for work experience activities.
- Support succession planning processes.
- Oversee training for Ops/Warehouse team members.
- Maintain and improve training records and processes.
- Evaluate and report on the impact of development activities.
- Manage L&D budgets and costs, negotiating better terms where possible.
- Maintain records for audits and participate in internal/external audits.
- Stay informed about new initiatives and funding opportunities relevant to the business.
- Develop and maintain a resource library accessible to colleagues.
- Support ongoing HR projects.
Qualities:
- Experience in a similar FMCG HR L&D role.
- Proficient with LMS systems and digital learning design.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Strong IT skills, including LMS, SCORM, HRIS, and MS Office.
- Organized team player.
Salary, Benefits and Hours:
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 am - 5:00 pm, with 40 minutes paid break. Flexible working arrangements, including WFH, are in place, with occasional shift flexibility.
Holidays: 22 days + statutory holidays.
Salary: Competitive, dependent on skills and experience.
Pension: Contributory scheme with salary exchange options; 5% employee and 4% employer contributions.
Life Assurance: x2 annual salary.
