About the Role
Our leading client is strengthening its global Network Services team and seeking an experienced Network Engineer to support and evolve its enterprise network infrastructure, to join for an initial 12 month contract.
Starting ASAP, this is a fully remote position paying £400-£470 per day outside ir35. This role is ideal for someone with deep technical expertise in network design, segmentation, and architecture, who can operate across both modern and legacy network technologies.
What You'll Do
Network Design & Architecture - Design secure and scalable network solutions aligned with global architecture standards. - Contribute to the evolution of the network architecture across WAN, LAN, WLAN, SASE, and cloud environments. - Support the rollout of HP Aruba-based SD-WAN across global sites. - Review, optimise, and modernise legacy Cisco-based network designs.
Network Segmentation & Security - Lead network segmentation initiatives across enterprise and OT environments. - Implement segmentation frameworks aligned to Zero Trust principles. - Integrate segmentation with Palo Alto SASE and cloud security platforms.
Operational Engineering & Support - Provide L3 technical support for complex global network issues. - Own network performance, capacity planning, and optimisation activities. - Support lifecycle management including upgrades and hardware refreshes.
Technology Delivery & Projects - Participate in global network transformation projects including SD-WAN transitions and segmentation rollout. - Collaborate with Cloud, Security, DC Operations, and vendor teams. - Produce HLD/LLD documentation, diagrams, and SOPs.
Vendor & Stakeholder Collaboration - Work with global vendors including HPE Aruba, Cisco, and Palo Alto. - Coordinate with managed service providers. - Influence decision-making around technology standards.Required Experience
Solid enterprise network engineering.
Expertise in network design, segmentation, and architecture.
Hands-on experience with HP Aruba SD-WAN, Cisco routing/switching, Palo Alto SASE. Strong understanding of BGP, OSPF, VPN, QoS, and security controls.
Experience in large multi-vendor environments
