In this role, you’ll be working in a team that plays a pivotal role in enabling Covéa Insurance to realise its overarching business strategy and objectives. We deliver strategic, standard, and business-as-usual (BAU) change initiatives that support the long-term vision of the organisation.
This role is based on site at any of our UK offices in Halifax, London, Manchester or Reading. We believe that working together in person fosters stronger collaboration, deeper engagement, and supports your professional growth!

Where will I make an impact?
- Lead and develop a high-performing test team through clear direction, coaching, and performance management.
- Own and manage all aspects of testing, including estimation, strategy, policy creation, defect reporting, and issue resolution.
- Plan and allocate resources effectively, scaling with burst capacity as needed.
- Support the Automation team by eliminating duplication and evaluating QA toolsets.
- Define and monitor key quality metrics to assess test effectiveness and drive continuous improvement.
- Act as a trusted advisor to stakeholders, aligning quality initiatives with business goals and fostering strong cross-functional collaboration to ensure shared understanding of requirements.
- Champion continuous improvement by simplifying processes and ensuring consistent delivery across testing areas.
- Collaborate across IT and Delivery Centres to embed testing excellence and encouraging cross-skilling within the team to enhance flexibility and resilience.
- Monitor and report testing progress and outcomes to stakeholders.
- Text Manager or Service Assurance Manager experience, with leadership and line management skills and the ability to inspire, support, and develop others.
- A proactive, positive mindset with a strong commitment to quality assurance.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with a focus on practical, efficient solutions.
- Strong communication and documentation skills, able to bridge technical and non-technical audiences.
- Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple priorities independently and with attention to detail.
- Skilled in stakeholder engagement, with a respectful and collaborative approach.
- Knowledge of secure coding standards and practices, and a deep understanding of testing tools and frameworks to meet quality and acceptance criteria.
- Experience managing end-to-end testing for both small-scale changes and complex, large-scale products.
- Background in developing QA policies and procedures aligned with industry best practices, ideally in a regulated environment.
- ISTQB Foundation certification and ISTQB or equivalent professional qualification preferred.
