The Role
We are looking for a Senior IT Project Manager to l ead the operational transformation of 600+ group gyms & our support centre to fully digital ways of working. Leading the d esign and implement ation of new software , delivering comms & engagement, delivering learning and training to the business where necessary . Key drivers for this role include enabling improved remote management, driving qua l ity , consistency and technical efficienc y . Leading a team of project managers to implement and design best project management practices across the business using innovative solutions.
Additional Responsibilities Within This Role Include
- Lead and d eliver IT Change Projects a cross a c omplex g roup e state of 6 00+ Gyms:
- Oversee and drive the successful delivery of large-scale IT change initiatives across the organization, managing a diverse portfolio of projects impacting over 6 00 + gym locations, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives and achieving measurable results.
- Establish a r obust Project Governance process with c omprehensive p lanning and c lear v isibility:
- Implement strong project governance frameworks, creating detailed project roadmaps and timelines that provide stakeholders with clear visibility of progress, risks, and milestones. Regularly report on status, adjusting plans as needed to mitigate any delays or issues.
- Design, c reate, and p ilot s ystems to e nsure i ntuitive u ser j ourneys:
- Collaborate with product teams and end-users to design, develop, and pilot new systems and technologies, focusing on creating simple, intuitive, and seamless user experiences that increase engagement and efficiency for gym staff and members alike.
- Conduct d etailed s takeholder m apping and d evelop c omprehensive c ommunication p lans:
- Perform in-depth stakeholder analysis to identify key players, understand their needs, and ensure alignment. Develop tailored communication strategies and plans to ensure transparent, timely updates across all levels of the organization, addressing concerns and feedback.
- Facilitate s trong c ross- f unctional c ollaboration to m eet b usiness r equirements:
- Foster collaboration across multiple departments (IT, operations, marketing, HR, etc.) to ensure all project requirements are fully understood, prioriti s ed , and executed. Proactively manage interdepartmental dependencies and ensure that all teams are aligned with project goals.
- Lead t horough t ransition and r oll-out p lanning, i ncluding t ailored t raining p rograms :
- Manage the end-to-end transition process for new systems and technologies, ensuring successful rollout through detailed planning. Develop and implement training programs tailored to different team levels, ensuring that all employees are confident and capable in utili s ing the new systems effectively.
- Finali s e p rojects with e ffective c hange m anagement p rocesses :
- Ensure that change management best practices are followed to close out projects, defining and communicating new business-as-usual processes. Provide documentation, training materials, and support to facilitate smooth transitions and long-term adoption of new systems or software.
- Collaborate with i nternational t eams to influence the i mplement ation of c ommunication, l earning, and t ask m anagement i nitiatives a cross the group :
- Work closely with international teams in Denmark, Switzerland, USA and Saudi Arabia, driving the successful implementation of change initiatives, improving communication strategies and streamlining task management processes. Adapt approaches to local needs while maintaining global consistency and best practices.
- Experience of leading an IT team that handles projects with a range of markets.
- Entrepreneurial mind-set and an appetite to work across functions and teams.
- Self-starter who works dynamically and flexibly in a face-paced environment, where goalposts may move.
- Experience running multi-site projects with a strong focus on communication and engagement for the teams involved.
- Naturally ‘hands-on’ and collegiate approach, comfortable working with a wide variety of people.
- Pedant for detail who faces challenges with a naturally problem-solving attitude.
- Confident communicator who can adapt their style to engage with a range of stakeholders.
- Flexible location-based role, with travel to gym and office sites across the UK as needed.
