Job Description

Associate Investment Strategist, Investment Solutions

Dimensional’s Investment Solutions Group (ISG) acts as a source of specialized investment knowledge that delivers thought leadership, education and analysis to our clients through face-to-face interactions and compelling, informative content.

The Portfolio Consulting team is one of the pillars within the Investment Solutions Group and is focused on consulting with Financial Advisors and Institutional clients on portfolio construction and analytics across asset classes.

The Associate Investment Strategist will have two sets of responsibilities. One will be to help deploy Portfolio Consulting services in the EMEA region. Initially, the Associate Investment Strategist will support senior members of the local team; over time, direct involvement in client meetings is expected.

The other set of responsibilities will be to support broader ISG functions—handling technical client questions, helping create and manage local investment content and messaging, and dealing with various ISG workstreams and projects.

The Associate Investment Strategist will work collaboratively with others on the team, Portfolio Managers, and our Global Client Group with a focus on asset allocation, statistical analysis, bespoke client analytics and other projects. This position requires both technical proficiency and experience working with and presenting to a wide range of clients.

Responsibilities

  • Support various Investment Solutions Group activities in the EMEA region.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of Dimensional’s investment approach and its implementation across strategies and vehicle types (including funds, ETFs and separate accounts).
  • Present compelling analysis to help clients better understand their portfolio exposures and risks.
  • Prepare analytics that convey complex asset allocation concepts in more accessible terms for clients and prospects.
  • Independently analyze, process and interpret data to create custom bullets, narrative, charts, graphs and other diagrams and make recommendations to the investment functions.
  • Enhance communication and team-work across teams in both London and the U.S., leveraging best practices and sharing knowledge to increase the firm’s impact.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent, in Finance, Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • Experience working within the investment management industry or related experience desired.
  • Experience presenting technical investment and mathematical concepts to clients in a consultative manner.
  • Excellent analytical, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills to articulate investment concepts to a variety of audience types.
  • High attention to detail and comfortable working with data and statistical concepts.
  • Ability to resolve problems effectively and exercise good judgement.
  • Motivated to self-teach skills and apply learned knowledge to applicable tasks.
  • Eager to learn and responsive to constructive feedback and guidance.
