Interim Financial Controller, Tewkesbury, 3-6 months, £80-85K
\nA commercially minded Interim Financial Controller is required to take the lead of a busy finance function within a fast?paced manufacturing SME. This is a hands on, high impact interim role, ideal for a finance leader who can combine rigorous financial control with forward?looking commercial insight.

\n\n

You will operate as a key member of the senior leadership team, acting as a strategic partner to the Managing Director and influencing decisions across the business. The remit spans financial governance, operational performance, and commercial strategy, with a clear mandate to strengthen control, improve visibility, and support sustainable growth.

\n\n

Key Responsibilities
\nDeliver accurate, timely monthly management accounts, budgets, and rolling forecasts.
\nLead, motivate, and develop the finance team to meet operational and strategic needs.
\nPartner with senior leaders to support strategic planning, growth initiatives, and commercial decisions.
\nProvide detailed financial analysis to support pricing, contract negotiations, and margin optimisation.
\nManage cash flow, working capital, and funding requirements to maintain financial stability.
\nOversee cost control, product costing, inventory valuation, and manufacturing variance analysis.
\nBuild robust business cases for capital investment, automation, and operational improvements.
\nEnsure strong financial governance, internal controls, and statutory compliance.
\nManage external relationships with banks, auditors, insurers, and advisors.
\nLead the annual audit and statutory reporting processes.
\nDevelop and maintain financial KPIs and dashboards to enhance performance visibility.
\nWork closely with operational and commercial teams to align financial and operational performance.
\nDrive continuous improvement across financial systems, processes, and automation.
\nAct as a trusted commercial advisor, balancing risk and opportunity.
\nContribute to a culture of accountability, transparency, and high performance.

About You
\nYou will bring proven accounting expertise, strong commercial acumen, and the confidence to operate at both board and operational level. Experience within a manufacturing SME is essential, along with the ability to challenge, influence, and deliver at pace.
