Purpose of the Role
To manage and oversee disrepair and high-level damp and mould cases from start to finish, ensuring quality repairs, legal compliance, and excellent customer service. You'll work closely with residents, legal teams, and contractors to deliver effective solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Investigate and inspect reports of disrepair or damp/mould.
Provide technical assessments and expert witness reports.
Specify and oversee repair works through to completion.
Liaise with residents, legal representatives, and contractors.
Ensure value for money and quality outcomes.
Manage case records, timelines, budgets, and contract performance.
Attend court as needed to support legal processes.
Ensure compliance with health & safety, housing standards, and council policies.
Required Experience & Qualifications
HNC or equivalent in a construction-related field.
RICS or CIOB accreditation (or working towards).
NEBOSH / IOSH and HHSRS (or willingness to undertake).
Proven experience with housing disrepair, damp/mould, surveying, and contract management.
Skilled in diagnostics, reporting, and delivering practical repair solutions.
Familiar with schedules of rates (e.g., NHF).
Key Skills & Attributes
Strong technical knowledge of property maintenance.
Understanding of building safety (asbestos, gas, CDM, etc.).
Excellent communication, negotiation, and report writing skills.
