Inspector / MachinistSalary: £17.70 per hour plus shift %Hours: 37.5 hours per weekShifts: Rotational shifts: Days & AfternoonsLocation: Sheffield, S9Contract: Full-Time | PermanentThe Role:We're looking for a highly detail-focused Inspector / Machinist to support inspection and CNC machining processes, ensuring all products meet strict medical and customer specifications. Key Responsibilities:Perform visual and dimensional inspectionsComplete DIR reports and OGP scanningUse precision measuring equipment (callipers, verniers, micrometers)Record results accurately in Excel and internal systemsReject and quarantine non-conforming productSet, load, and operate CNC machinesVerify parts against engineering drawings and tolerancesComplete route cards, inspection sheets, and traceability documentationEscalate quality or machine issues promptlySupport Lean, 5S, and EHS initiatives Essential Criteria:Proven experience in CNC machining and/or inspectionStrong ability to use measurement tools (verniers, callipers, micrometres)Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings & GD&TExperience working to tight tolerancesGood working knowledge of quality control processesCompetent in Microsoft Excel and basic IT systemsStrong attention to detail and problem-solving abilityDesirable Criteria:Experience within medical device, aerospace, or other regulated industriesFamiliarity with OGP / CMM inspection equipmentKnowledge of ISO 13485 or similar quality standardsPrevious experience with traceability and batch controlUnderstanding of Lean Manufacturing / Continuous ImprovementApprenticeship or relevant engineering qualification (NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent)Behavioural & Performance Criteria:Demonstrates a 'right first time' quality mind setStrong accountability and ownership of workAbility to work independently and as part of a teamEffective communication skills across departmentsFlexible approach to shift work and production demandsCommitment to health, safety, and compliance standards Why Apply?Competitive hourly rate with structured shiftsJoin a globally recognised manufacturerWork on life-changing productsClear pathway to develop within precision engineering & qualityJBRP1_UKTJ
