Infrastructure Engineer

Salary: £40,000 - £50,000
We are looking for an Infrastructure Engineer to join Group IT team, you will be based in Dummer, Basingstoke. You will be building, operating and maintaining the internal IT infrastructure across SCG, delivering hands-on technical work across all infrastructure systems and services.
Responsibilities:
Monitoring the availability of systems and services and responding to availability alerts.
Monitoring infrastructure capacity to ensure systems can host required workloads.
Managing day-to-day cloud service, datacentre, and email system operations.
Ensuring infrastructure systems are operating efficiently through regular maintenance activities.
Carrying out infrastructure upgrades and migrations.
Managing backup and recovery processes, including backup testing and restoration.
Ensuring infrastructure patch management to keep software updated to the latest, secure versions.
Monitoring and ensuring infrastructure performance meets business requirements.
Ensuring network security by maintaining firewalls and security appliances
Skills Required:
A good understanding of enterprise IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, storage, cloud services, and datacentre environments.
A solid understanding of security principles and their application to infrastructure systems.
Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills across a breadth of IT infrastructure disciplines.
Experience with backup and recovery systems, including testing and restoration procedures.
Experience with infrastructure monitoring tools and responding to system alerts.
Good documentation skills for recording infrastructure systems, configurations, and changes.
The ability to work methodically and follow defined processes for change management and asset management.
