As a Hygiene Supervisor, you will take day-to-day responsibility for supervising the hygiene team, maintaining a clean and compliant production environment, and supporting continuous improvement in hygiene practices. This is a hands-on role that requires strong leadership, attention to detail, and a deep understanding of hygiene and sanitation standards in food manufacturing.
- Supervise and lead the hygiene team, ensuring tasks are completed to standard and team members are trained, motivated, and performing effectively.
- Implement and oversee hygiene and sanitation programs in line with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct regular inspections and internal audits to monitor cleanliness and compliance, and drive improvements where needed.
- Develop and deliver training sessions on hygiene best practices, safety procedures, and sanitation technologies.
- Respond swiftly and effectively to hygiene-related issues, including contamination risks, managing corrective and preventive actions.
- Maintain accurate documentation of cleaning schedules, inspection results, and compliance records; report findings to senior management.
- Manage stock of hygiene supplies and equipment, ensuring efficient use of resources and readiness for all hygiene operations.
We're looking for someone who:
- Has previous supervisory experience in a hygiene or sanitation role, ideally in a food manufacturing or FMCG environment.
- Understands HACCP, food safety regulations, COSHH, and cleaning validation.
- Has strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to train, guide, and inspire a team.
- Is detail-oriented, proactive, and committed to maintaining high hygiene standards.
- Is comfortable working cross-functionally and responding effectively to incidents or audits.
