Location: Wilton, CT
Shift: Night Shift – Mon to Fri – 6:00 pm to 6:00am (2/2/3)
Employment: Contract to Hire
Pay Rate: Competitive, based on experience
Position Description:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated HVAC Technician to join our client’s facilities maintenance team. In this role, you’ll perform preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance on commercial HVAC systems while also supporting general building maintenance in plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with a variety of commercial HVAC systems, strong troubleshooting skills, and a commitment to safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on commercial and industrial HVAC systems, including split systems, package units, and boilers. Inspect, clean, and service components such as belts, pulleys, motors, compressors, coils, and condensate drain lines. Safely handle refrigerants in compliance with EPA and OSHA standards. Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and system failures efficiently. Install, maintain, and troubleshoot AC motor controls and variable frequency drives (VFDs). Conduct airflow and duct inspections, making necessary adjustments and repairs. Complete detailed service reports and documentation through mobile technology (tablet/smartphone). Collaborate with team members, vendors, and customers to ensure timely and quality service. Maintain compliance with all safety regulations, codes, and company policies. Support additional facilities maintenance activities as needed, including light electrical, plumbing, and general building repairs.
Required Skills & Education
High school diploma or trade certification required; associate degree or technical certification in HVAC or related field . 5+ years of experience servicing commercial or industrial HVAC systems. EPA Universal Certification required. Strong understanding of HVAC controls, electrical systems, and refrigeration principles. Ability to interpret schematics, technical manuals, and building codes. Excellent problem-solving and communication skills. Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. Commitment to safety, professionalism, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
Experience with building automation systems (BAS). Multi-trade skills in plumbing, electrical, or mechanical maintenance. Prior experience in industrial or manufacturing environments.
