HV Commissioning Engineer (National Grid) 12-month Contract Mostly home-based Outside IR35 You'll play a key role in commissioning protection and control systems on HV substations (132-400kV).

Responsibilities include: Planning and delivering site acceptance testing and commissioning in line with SR141 procedures Functional and performance testing of protection systems, control panels and secondary equipment Witnessing FAT and ensuring all activities follow approved standards and methods Managing commissioning documentation, drawings, reports and handover records Creating and reviewing test plans, method statements and commissioning switching programmes Deploying and verifying configuration files for SCADA BCUs, RTUs, protection relays and network devices Managing site equipment, spares, LOTO procedures and safety documentation Troubleshooting technical issues during commissioning and energisation Coordinating with project managers, site teams and stakeholders Promoting strong HSE culture on site Skills needed: Electrical engineering qualification or strong relevant experience Current or previous National Grid SR141/BP141/TP141 authorisation (essential) Extensive HV substation xbpsjku commissioning experience (132-400kV) Strong understanding of electrical systems, protection relays, control schemes and industry standards Experience with SCADA systems and deploying device configurations Confident documentation and reporting skills Strong teamwork, communication and leadership abilities Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel
