Tradewind Recruitment is working with a well-regarded secondary school in Derby to recruit a full time Humanities Teacher for a maternity cover starting in March 2026. This role will involve teaching Key Stages 3 and 4, full time, and is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive and inclusive school community.

The Role - Humanities Teacher (Mainly KS3 with KS4)

As an Humanities Teacher, you will:

Deliver engaging and well-planned Humanities lessons across KS3 and KS4

Follow established schemes of work while bringing creativity to lessons

Assess, track and support pupil progress effectively

Maintain high expectations for behaviour, achievement and literacy

Contribute positively to the Humanities department and wider school ethos

Contract & Salary Details

Start date: March 2026 (maternity cover)

Working pattern: full time

Key Stages: KS3 & KS4

£165 - £235 per day

Qualifications & Person Specification

The successful candidate will:

• Hold QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
• Have experience teaching Humanities at KS3 and KS4
• Demonstrate strong subject knowledge and a passion for Humanities
• Be organised, adaptable and committed to high-quality teaching
• Have strong classroom management and communication skills
• Be committed to safeguarding and promoting student wellbeing
