This site has been recognised with national awards and holds one of the highest internal compliance audit ratings within the group.The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of health, safety, and environmental compliance, ensuring site-wide engagement and legal adherence in a complex, fast-paced bakery environment. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams including operations, engineering, quality, and technical, driving safe behaviours and supporting audit readiness, training, and continuous improvement. This is a hands-on leadership role, ideal for someone who thrives in environments where they can make a visible impact, build capability, and drive cultural change.The RoleLead all aspects of Health, Safety & Environmental strategy on siteDrive standards beyond baseline compliance to a mature, high-performing cultureTake ownership of environmental compliance, including waste and water managementAct as the key on-site HSE leader, supporting and developing site capabilityDeliver training and upskill teams where gaps existWork across site and operational counters (1-2 days/week initially)Split focus: 80% on-site, 20% supporting wider operationsAbout YouNEBOSH Certificate (minimum) with progression toward Diploma or Environmental qualificationStrong working knowledge of both H&S and Environmental complianceExperience in food manufacturing preferred (poultry ideal), though FMCG, waste, or water backgrounds will be consideredHACCP / food safety knowledge is advantageousFamiliar with ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 standardsInternal audit experience desirableProven ability to improve compliance, deliver change, and influence site cultureHands-on, credible, and confident operating at site levelWhy Apply?This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of HSE at a site that is actively investing in improvement.
