Are you passionate about empowering young people and helping them reach their full potential?Barnardo'sarelooking forcreative,nurturingandmotivated individuals to join our friendly team at our16+ Glasgow Service.In this role,you'llbe supporting young people aged 1625 living in shared accommodationand in the communityas they work toward independence.Ifyou'redriven to make a meaningful difference in a young person's life,we'dlove to hear from you!Location:New City Road, Glasgow, Scotland, G4 9JTHours / Shift Pattern:37hours per weekShifts include sleepovers, day shift and back shift this includes weekend work.About the ServiceGlasgow 16+ service has over 30years' experienceof supporting care leavers within Glasgow through our housing support services.Our housing support services include 2 residential accommodations for young people to group live to develop their skills within a group setting with staff support. We also have 18 flats within Glasgow which we offer outreach services to.About the RoleAs a Housing Support Worker, your responsibilitieswill include:Providing onetoone support, encouraging young people tomaintaintheir accommodation, build positive relationships with neighbours, safeguard their wellbeing, and access local community services.Designing and delivering flexible, individualised programmes that reflect each young person's needs, aspirations, and goals.Managing challenging behaviour constructively whilemaintainingprofessional boundaries, safety, and openness.Producing clear written reports,maintainingaccuraterecords within an open recording system, and encouraging young people to contribute to their own documentation.About YouIn your application, you shoulddemonstrate:HNC/SVQ3 or equivalent qualificationExperience of working withvulnerableyoung people in a supportive roleStrong understanding of safeguarding policies and proceduresKnowledge of issues surrounding leaving care and social inclusionEvidence of trauma informed practiceFlexibility to work a variety of shifts, includingsleep-insWhen completing your application please refer to your skills knowledge and experience in relation to the Person Specification and Job Description.
