Please note: this role is strictly for candidates with recent Section 202 review experience.What You’ll Be Doing
Leading Homelessness Part 7 Section 202 reviews from start to finish
Producing clear, defensible, legally robust review decisions
Interpreting and applying complex legislation, guidance, and case law
Liaising with solicitors, advocates, internal services, and external agencies
Instructing legal services and supporting Housing Act appeals and court proceedings
Managing caseloads efficiently to meet statutory deadlines
Ensuring decisions protect the authority from legal and financial riskEssential Criteria (Non-Negotiable) Candidates must demonstrate:
At least 12 months’ experience in the last 2 years undertaking Homelessness Part 7 Section 202 reviews
Strong, practical knowledge of:
Housing Act 1996 (as amended)
Homelessness Reduction Act
Homelessness Code of Guidance
Review Regulations and relevant case law
Proven experience writing statutory review decision letters
Local authority homelessness or housing reviews backgroundCandidates without recent s202 review experience will not be considered.
Desirable Experience
Representing a local authority in appeals or court settings
Knowledge of Equality Act, Care Act, Mental Health legislation, Immigration and Children legislationWhat’s in It for You?
