Overview A well-established, high-quality hotel and events venue in Wrexham is seeking a Head Chef to lead its kitchen operation. This is a fantastic opportunity for a strong, hands-on Head Chef to take full ownership of a busy kitchen delivering a mix of restaurant dining, weddings, and functions.

The successful Head Chef will play a key role in driving standards, consistency, and team development, while maintaining a commercially focused approach to food and labour costs.

The Role As Head Chef, you will be responsible for the full day-to-day running of the kitchen, ensuring high standards across all food outlets. This includes restaurant service, private dining, and large-scale events.

You will be a visible leader in the kitchen, setting the tone for service, organisation, and quality, while working closely with senior management to evolve the food offering and maximise performance.

Key Responsibilities Lead and manage the kitchen team on a daily basis. Deliver consistent, high-quality food across restaurant and events. Oversee menu development, keeping offerings fresh and commercially viable. Manage GP, stock control, and kitchen budgets effectively. Ensure compliance with all food safety, hygiene, and health & safety standards. Recruit, train, and develop junior chefs. Maintain strong communication with front of house and management teams. Drive standards during high-volume functions and weddings.

Key Requirements Proven experience as a Head Chef within a hotel or high-volume venue. Strong background in fresh food and event catering. Experience managing weddings and functions is essential. Solid understanding of kitchen financials including GP and cost control. Confident leader with the ability to motivate and develop a team. Calm under pressure with strong organisational skills. Food safety and hygiene qualifications.
