Highways Operative – £14 per hour Location: Weston-Super-Mare Nature and Scope: As part of the Highways division, you'll play a key role in the safe delivery of both reactive and scheduled maintenance programmes across the highway network. This is a hands-on role where you'll contribute to ensuring roads and highways remain in good repair, contributing directly to public safety and efficiency. Job Purpose: As a Highways Operative, you'll work as part of a small team (typically two or more) to carry out a wide range of routine, emergency, and minor civil engineering works in line with both programmed and reactive tasks. Some flexibility is required, as work may occasionally take place outside normal working hours. Principal Duties and Responsibilities: Efficient Execution of Work: Carry out tasks assigned by the supervisor or chargehand, ensuring they are completed safely, efficiently, and within the specified timeframe. Escalate any issues or concerns to the supervisor promptly.
