M Group Highways

You’ll be joining our Highways maintenance team, as the UK’s number one highway maintenance contractor, our teams use the latest innovations to create effective solutions. We offer a range of services including planned and reactive maintenance and highway improvement schemes.

What will you be doing?

You'll be doing road maintenance and repairs - Carrying out routine and emergency repairs on roads, pavements, and highways, including pothole filling, resurfacing, and patching.

Traffic management, where you will be installing and maintaining temporary traffic management systems such as cones, signs, barriers, and lights to ensure safety during works.

We'll ask you to following all relevant health and safety regulations, wearing appropriate PPE, and ensuring safe working practices on site.

You'll be doing vegetation Management, by cutting back overgrown vegetation, hedges, and trees near highways to maintain visibility and safety.

Use and Maintenance of Equipment when operating machinery such as rollers, excavators, and breakers, and ensuring tools and equipment are maintained and stored correctly.

What you’ll bring

  • Maintenance knowledge - Understanding of materials, tools, and techniques used in surfacing, kerbing, and drainage
  • Plant & Machinery Operation - Ability to safely operate equipment like rollers, excavators, and breakers
  • Health & Safety Awareness - Strong understanding of site safety, PPE use, and risk assessments
  • Teamwork - Works effectively with colleagues, supervisors, and contractors
  • Communication - Clear verbal communication for reporting hazards, following instructions, and liaising with the public.
  • Time Management - Ability to complete tasks efficiently and meet deadlines
